Innocence of little children.......

Abhishekh Samuel, my nine year old, was quite upset he could not travel with me to see my sister in the USA this fall. His aunt also spoils him silly and gets him the latest toys and hence nurtured an ardent fan. So in the weeks running upto the visit, he was constantly making a Christmas wish list expecting me to give it Aunty "Santa Claus".

I had put up with his constant pestering to tell her what gifts she should give him, when I finally scolded him in exasperation "We cannot ask for gifts and I will certainly not do so on your behalf !"

The little boy's face fell and he was quite dejected that his daddy would be returning empty handed.

With just a few days to go before I left, he sidled up to me and said in a very tiny and meek voice " Well if Aunty gives you some gift, don't return it at least."

I crumbled.

I knelt down, hugged him and said "God will bless you if you are a good boy,so pray hard that you should remain good always, and God will bless you with all the gifts you desire"

I hope he cherishes this thought throughout his life, as most of us search and seek gifts rather than wait for it to be bestowed on us from above.
